Full Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo launch delayed until July

The Japanese quake/sea/nuclear apocalypse has had an effect on Sony Ericsson’s manufacturing abilities, with the Italian arm of the company announcing a delay for the Xperia Neo. It should’ve arrived about now. Instead it’ll arrive in July.

Arc and Play will also arrive in smaller quantities than planned. Here’s a quote:

As Sony Ericsson continues to assess the impact of the situation in Japan on its business, we have communicated to our operator customers and distributors that some volume of Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY and Xperia neo phones has been affected. Xperia neo has already been introduced to the marketplace in limited quantities. However, due to supply chain disruptions resulting from the situation in Japan, we have shifted the timing of Xperianeo’s broader launch and it is now planned for early Q3.

Were not entirely sure how many people would be buying an Xperia Neo right now anyway, what with the likes of the Xperia Arc, HTC Desire S, Optimus 2X and many, many more amazing Android phones hitting the market…

…as it’s just a fat Arc with a smaller screen, isn’t it? Via Clove and Engadget.

A fat Arc with a smaller screen… and a front facing camera, and probably slightly better battery life… and smaller overall to boot. So a little more going for it than that!
