UK retailer Dixons has SLASHED its asking price for the popular Advent Vega 10.1″ Android 2.2 tablet, taking it down beneath the critical £200 psychological barrier. As in, it now costs £199.99 including free delivery.
This price is for the version of the Vega without Adobe’s Flash Player pre-loaded on it, but as we’ve banged on about before, that’s easily fixed by updating the firmware via the Advent Vega site.
Great price, that. With apologies to one of our readers who bought one just last week. And thanks to Droid-Den for the tip. They clearly know us very well.

If so they will sell out very quickly

/ March 31, 2011No. That’s why the price has been reduced to clear them out

/ March 31, 2011I didn’t mean officially. I know that isn’t happening.
But there are already some builds out there. So I’m snapping one up.

/ March 31, 2011The spec is suitable (same CPU/GPU as the Motorola Xoom, a Honeycomb tablet).
If it does not get official Honeycomb support (which is the likely outcome), it will almost certainly get unofficial community Honeycomb support.
A absolute bargain for someone prepared to tweak it and install Modaco’s ROM.

/ March 31, 2011Don’t forget, you can get another 3% off using Quidco (which is £5 in this case).
