Here’s one for all you sociable kids out there. Google’s uploaded a new update of Google Maps to the Android Market today, which features much tighter integration with its location-based service Latitude. You can now “check-in” to places automatically.
As we have previously mentioned, we live in the countryside and have no interesting in finding out about if people we don’t really even know are in the middle of buying a coffee in Starbucks or not, so please excuse us if we don’t go into any more detail.
Read all about it on the Google Mobile Blog if you’re into the whole check-in business and actually ever leave the house. Google Maps 5.1 is in the Android Market now.
