If you like listening to the likes of Jimmy Saville and Dave Lee Travis tearing up the wheels of steel, Play.fm on Android might be for you. It’s a music app entirely dedicated to streaming DJ sets via 3G or wi-fi, with over 30,000 mixes currently in its database.
Here’s the official description. Good to know it works while skydiving:
Play.fm is where you are. Install the Play.fm App for Android and take your favorite DJ Sets with you for listening anytime, anywhere: on your way to work, while skydiving or at your friend’s party. Just about anywhere with 3G or Wifi connection. Now available on the Android marketplace for EUR 2.99.
No mention is made as to the legality of the recordings, but the makers have a big and expensive-looking web site and internet radio service, so we can only presume everything is being conducted above board and with the consent of all named parties.

/ January 25, 2011In the faqs it says this:
Does PLAY.FM pay royalties to collecting societies?
Yes, we do.
As PLAY.FM is based in Vienna / Austria we pay licence fees to Austrian collecting societies (AKM, AUME, LSG).
They have contracts with other collecting societies around the world. Therefore a part of the money that PLAY.FM pays here in Austria will be passed on to those collecting societies abroad.
