Electronic Arts, which released Worms on Android via its own weird mobile game distribution channel a month ago, has seen sense – and granted the game a proper release in the Android Market. So that people may now (a) find it and (b) buy it.
The game’s up now for an asking price of €2.59. And look, it has been OPTIMIZED FOR ANDROID:
That asking price is a bargain. Worms is an all-time great. There are loads of worm-related titles in the Android Market, so finding it is a bit tough – the one you want is the one created by Electronic Arts Mobile. We found it about two “scrolls” down the search results page.
It’s smooth to use, the 1080p display is sharp, clear and bright, the device is extremely light and thin and therefore very pocketable and portable — much more so than other 5-inch phones we’ve used. And yet… we’re a bit unimpressed by the overall package…
A relatively high-spec smartphone, with a 4.5″ display running at 480 x 854 resolution and powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, plus the Ascend G510 arrives running Android 4.1.1 — albeit potentially hindered by Huawei only sticking 512MB of RAM inside it..

/ January 28, 2011Shame that it is touch-screen control only. EA need to provide an update that makes use of trackpads/balls as a minimum and physical keyboards ideally. Otherwise this is a pretty solid portable version of Worms. Some sort of online multiplayer and scoreboards a la Worms 2 circa 1997 would be good too.
