Dell Streak 7 revealed – dual core, Android 2.2 tablet

Dell’s just released official facts and images for its updated Dell Streak, with its new, bigger 7″ Android tablet yet another device to come with Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 chipset inside it.

Sadly there’s no tablet-themed Android 3.0 for the Streak 7 as yet, with Dell saying it’ll come with Android 2.2 onboard – and the same Stage custom user interface as found on the regular 5″ Streak. Which means it can launch sooner rather than later. Here it is:

In a similar fashion to the Motorola XOOM, Dell’s initially releasing this in the US alongside a network partner – in this case T-Mobile. But it does say the unbranded Streak 7 will be available direct through “in the coming weeks”. Hopefully that means a Euro launch will happen equally promptly.

And it only has WVGA. Not good. A device of this size should be 800×600.

Nexus 5It’s smooth to use, the 1080p display is sharp, clear and bright, the device is extremely light and thin and therefore very pocketable and portable — much more so than other 5-inch phones we’ve used. And yet… we’re a bit unimpressed by the overall package…

We bought one of these using our actual money. The HTC One V is HTC’s third entry in its high-profile new HTC One range, offering a smaller 3.7″ display running on a single-core 1GHz processor.
