Three UK launches "FroYo" 2.2 update for Samsung Galaxy S

UK mobile network Three has put its Samsung Galaxy S users out of their misery today, confirming that the Android 2.2 “FroYo” update for their phones is now available.

As ever with Samsung products, this upgrade is NOT available over-the-air. Galaxy S users who bought their phones locked to 3UK should be receiving a notification message from the network, telling them to fire up Samsung’s KIES tool and install the update via their computers.

And that’s the proof. Did this update ever hit T-Mobile Galaxys in the end, by the way?
