SwiftKey, our alternate Android keyboard of choice, has been updated, bringing what the maker calls a new “HD skin” – along with five new keyboard layouts and five new supported languages. Those funny-looking letters from Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Danish, Norwegian and Polish are now in.
But the best news as far as we’re concerned is the newly tweaked English layout, which does away with accented characters when long-pressing on a key. That ought to speed up entry no end.
Looks like they’ve also lowered the font size on the suggested words, too, which will help with selecting long words. Read all about the changes over on the SwiftKey blog.
The app’s a paid-for one costing the equivalent of $3.99, but the free trial version has been expanded to last 31 days if you NEED TIME to make your mind up about it.
