HTC has pushed out a medium-scale update to its HTC Desire HD, tweaking a few features and fixing the odd bug. Of most interest is an update to the Desire HD’s camera, which users are reporting is now much quicker in operation – with improved HD recording as well.
The 40MB update is NOT the Gingerbread release, but does bring the Desire HD up to Android 2.2.1.
Anecdotal evidence from MEN ON FORUMS claims that the Desire HD also seems to run generally a little faster after the update. Although that might just be the brandy talking.

After the update, the Android System started using 50% of the battery. I reset the phone to factory settings. The update stayed in place however the battery now lasts longer than a day! Problem must have been caused by a conflict between an app and the update.
