Drift Mania Championship launches on Android

Is it just us, or are things really kicking off BIG STYLEE when it comes to gaming on Android? Mobile gaming outfit Ratrod Studios has just released an Android version of Drift Mania Championship today, with the title now available on the Android market for your local equivalent of $0.99.

Here’s how to know if it’ll work on your telephone:

Drift Mania Championship is compatible with Android phones supporting a resolution of 800×480 or 854×480. This includes devices such as the Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S, the Motorola Droid family and dozens more.

The makers say the iVersion has been downloaded two million times already. That’s no indication of quality, but it at least means word of mouth hasn’t killed it stone dead yet. Which has to be a good thing. Here’s what it looks like:

driftmania 5 driftmania 6

Suspect those are iPhone screenshots – we’ve mailed the makers asking for a few 100% authentic Android ones.

It’s probably just me being old school but I hate steering by tilting the screen. I wish it supported qwerty keyboard. Otherwise looks like a fun game.
