The quite amazing Android TweetDeck app has seen a significant update today, bringing in many new features and fixes. Version 1.0.3 adds the ability to delete Twitter direct messages from within the app, adds support for Twitpic image uploading, fixes a few Facebook integration issues and more.
Here’s the changelog via TweetDeck itself:
- Landscape mode for all update detail views
– Added support for Twitpic
– Manual bit.ly shortening
– Allow for dismissing Places notification
– Fix faving tweets on 3g in France
– Allow old style RTs for protected users
– Support FB Single Sign On
– Allow users to delete DMs that are sent to them
– Likes and comments on FB photos should stay in app
– Several bug fixes and performance improvements

Love Android TweetDeck. It makes me want to start pretending to be even more people on Twitter, just so there are extra screens to swipe through. The updated TweetDeck for Android is on the Android Market right now.
It’s smooth to use, the 1080p display is sharp, clear and bright, the device is extremely light and thin and therefore very pocketable and portable — much more so than other 5-inch phones we’ve used. And yet… we’re a bit unimpressed by the overall package…

Sony returns with an all-new mobile design for 2012, pairing a dual-core processor with a 720p display. It’s a lovely phone, but is it enough to end our Samsung and HTC obsession?
LG’s updated Prada phone comes with an absolutely crazy black & white theme, but is it just for fashionable suit wearers who want to make themselves look a bit more interesting?

I really like both versions of tweetdeck, but if I’ve not used my phone in a while it takes a long long time to get past the tweets I’ve already read on my PC.

/ November 22, 2010Not sure I know what the difference is between a read and unread tweet. But you can press the “Home” strip at the top to have it whizz up to the top of your timeline.

I experimented buying one of the Lightning Deals last night, but it locked up on the “queue” screen. Not hopeful.

/ November 23, 2010Yeah, it seems it’s largely luck of the draw, but the stock levels are so low that every single item sells out instantly. Especially since the system encourages you to just click “buy” and then decide whether or not you actually want it afterwards.
That said, I did manage to get a Wii for £50 yesterday.
There will probably be some good (but not £80 good) deals on a 360 in January anyway, so I’ll let you know if I spot anything particularly good.
