Another prominent hardware manufacturer has announced its plans for a range of Android tablets, with Acer revealing it’s got 4.8″, 7″ and 10.1″ models on the way – and they’ll all arrive in April of 2011.
Acer’s spec sheet says the high-end 10.1″ tablet will feature a 1GHz dual-core processor, supports Flash 10.1 from launch, has a high screen resolution of 1280×800 and features a front-facing camera so we can all pretend we’re going to use it for video chat.
Acer doesn’t reveal which version of Android it’s planning for the 10.1″ tablet, though – simply stating it’ll ship with the “latest” version of Google’s OS. Which, in April 2011, really ought to be the “H” incarnation of Android that’s currently known as Android 3.0.
There will also be a 7″ Acer tablet launching at the same time, plus a 4.8″ tablet/phone hybrid. It’s not a one-off, it’s a proper RANGE. Picture taken from Engadget, which has a nice live blog of Acer’s event going on right now.
