Rovio, the famously independent maker of Angry Birds, has popped up one amazing statistic on its Twitter feed – the fact that SEVEN MILLION Android users have downloaded the Android version of the game since it launched a few weeks ago.
SEVEN MILLION. Even if only 0.5 percent of all those users clicked on an advert, that’s some serious revenue coming in.
Wonder how many of those players found it a disappointing experience on an older, less powerful Android phone, though?

5% of 7m * £0.05 = £1750.
Or is my guess way out?
On a related note: I’ve touched adverts many, many times by accident while playing Angry Birds. Also they get in the way. I can’t help thinking that if they’d just charged £1 for the Android version then after people not buying it, Google’s cut and taxes, they’d still have made perhaps £1m by now.

/ November 26, 2010I liked it at first(on my nexus one) made it pretty far even but after awhile everytime I tried to launch it I get a force close message send report. so I uninstalled and reinstalled got far again not as far as the first time and the same thing happens AGAIN!!! after numerous failed attempts I just uninstalled and never looked back…its hella frustrating making it so far than having to start from scratch I liked the game but not enough to go through constant force closes and start overs

/ November 29, 2010Yes, it does chug a bit on a hero, especially since they updated it last and made it even slower. Was bearable before that.
I just had to wipe my phone at the weekend and start again (dodgy sd card buggered things up a bit) – Reinstalled it but don’t think I can be arsed to go through it all again.
