Advent Vega tablet launches – now on sale at PC World & Dixons

We have been checking PC World and Dixons pretty much every hour of every day since the Advent Vega Android tablet was announced last month, waiting for the hot-sounding Nvidia Tegra 2 Android tablet to go on sale.

And as of this morning it’s possible to buy the Vega, with both PC World and Dixons letting online shoppers have the thing for home delivery. It is a momentous day. Remember what computer you were sitting at.

PC World and Dixons are part of the same group, so there’s no point shopping around – they’re the only retailers that’ll be stocking the Advent Vega. If you want one, better be quick – pent up demand for these is HUGE. Full tech specs of the Vega are here, if you need a quick refresh. Thanks to Mr Chaz for the tip.

UPDATE:
Sorry about this, but…

vega sold out

All gone in the first two hours. Starting to think we’re being TOYED WITH :(

  1. Could always use voucher codes/cashback sites to get a further dicount. Reckon it would be possible to knock at least £20 off doing this.

  2. Both sites now show it as being unavailable – surely it hasn’t sold out that quickly?

I suspect it did. I also suspect Dixons/PC World weren’t ready for a few thousand Android geeks all trying to buy it in the first 45 minutes of being on sale.

“You got another van load of them Vegas, Dave?”

I’d rather eat mouldy cork than buy anything from Dixons group.

The PC World website now lists this product as unavailable! Does this mean that they have sold out already or that it was listed as available for home delivery by mistake?!

I’ve had a couple of messages from people that paid for it and got order numbers, so it looks like it did actually launch.

The product was available… for brief minutes…

But, how can I buy this from outside UK?
Both sites require UK credit cards and UK addresses… so bad, bad lama…

“Due to unprecedented demand we have sold out and will be back in stock next week”
Well that serves me right for dithering doesn’t it.

  7. i bought one this morning from Curries (same group)
use the code 10POUND and it will reduce the price by….you guessed £10!

i got my order number acknowledgement.

I managed to get the Folio 100 the night before it went on sale at PC World… Was the first (so i was told) to contact Toshiba support re: flash not supported etc… it went back after 2 weeks as the kind manager at PC World let me play with it for a while. I did in fact want the Vega but settled for the Folio as I wanted it for a project.

I am not so sure if it did go on sale…I called PC world 5/6 days ago… I was told its on the website ready to ship… the very next day I was told by another that it had been withdrawn before it went on sale… I had been right on top of this and I would like to see more pictures… perhaps the date screen shot of the day they got it.
