There’s a rather nice list of bug-fixes and changes made to the latest Android Skype app over on the maker’s blog today, which highlight some of the rather sizeable alterations made in the newly-released update.
Like, now pressing the ‘Back’ key actually works as you’d expect it to and Skype will run on the smaller-screened Android phones out there thanks to support for 320×240 and 240×400 resolution – but Android 2.1 or above is still a requirement. Here’s the changelog of new Skype v1.0.1:
* 320*240 and 240*400 screen resolutions are now supported.
* Hardware back key is now supported.
* Signing out from Skype now exits Skype.
* Reduced power consumption in idle mode.
* Improved login stability and behavior.
* Improved performance with large contact lists.
* Reduced application size.
* General bug fixes.
We haven’t tried it, sorry. We want fewer ways to talk to and interact with people, not more. Get it now on the Android Market, or by heading to skype.com/m and installing it direct if you’re reading this on your telephone.
