For the last hour or two, it seems like no one in the WHOLE WORLD has been able to download and install apps from the Android Market. This is a shame, as we were looking forward to having a play with Five’o tonight – an app which lets you listen in on police radio broadcasts from Norway.
Basically all download attempts from the Market are stalling before they even start, then timing out, with “Download unsuccessful” appearing if you stare at it for long enough. So don’t worry, it’s not you, your phone, or your wi-fi or your internet. It’s the Market.
It’ll probably be back again by the time this post uploads…

/ October 28, 2010I had this, restarted the phone (HTC Legend Android 2.1 Update1) and then it worked. Not sure if it was the restart or Google that fixed it.
Buy hey, the huge Android growth, I wouldn’t be suprised to see at least occasional growing pains in the Android marketplace.

/ October 29, 2010Today I had serious problems downloading stuff over my mobile connection (full bars, network was up – surfing & such worked OK), tried several times over a period of 2-3 hours. Restart didn’t help. Downloading apps over my WiFi network worked fine, though.

/ October 29, 2010I think it may have been to do with the maps update. The market has started working for me again and the Google maps update has disappeared from my downloads section.

/ October 31, 2010Today 31:st of October still problems. Yesterday evening I managed to get some updates but one app I purchased (a Swedish one) still is impossible to get. I first tried to get the free version one week ago. The developers said that the server was down (market server). At least one week later I still can’t get neither the paid version nor the free one. Could it be caused by enabling new countries for paid apps?
Peter
/ October 31, 2010If it was some random startup I could buy it being related to the extra countries but this is Google.
I was really annoyed about the limited range of countries that had paid apps but now that I have them available to me I’m not sure I’d buy anything. Why risk paying for something that might never download. I’m not sure you can get a refund until you install so you could get stuck in limbo having paid but not being able to refund.
