In a little tweet this morning, Three UK confirmed that finally – FINALLY! – owners of branded HTC Desires bought through the network will be getting their upgrade to Android 2.2 tomorrow.
And look, Three has been so bold as to specify the precise time that HTC will launch the update. That’s a very brave thing to do. We wouldn’t fancy being a Three UK call centre operative at 16:01 Taiwanese time tomorrow if it doesn’t go up on time.
Would it be rubbing salt in the wound to say something like “better late than never” right now, Three users? Link via Recombu , which has done the maths and says 16:00 in Taiwan is 9.00am UK time.

/ October 13, 2010This is the best news I’ve had all day. Looks like the 3store in Norwich were right when i asked them. App2SD, no more “running low on space” warnings. Hopefully we won’t have to have a certain amount of space on the phone to download

/ October 13, 2010I’m on Three, bought a Desire from them, and it’s on 2.2 already… was pushed months ago. Not sure what they are smoking…

/ October 13, 2010You probably had one of the initial unbranded handsets. Tomorrows update is for those on custom 3 firmware.

/ October 13, 2010be wary, orange have stopped internet sharing and i believe O2 are doing the same. If its a function you use regularly, the update isnt worth losing it.

/ October 14, 2010Just so people know. I tried searching for the update on the phone, couldn’t find it. I then changed the date to the 14/12/11 and the notification immediately popped up

/ October 14, 2010Commenters on the Three blog are downloading it, too. Looks like HTC hit that launch time almost to the second.
