Here’s a nice story. The developer of the Android Subway Subcard app made it because he was annoyed about the lack of an official Android version of the iPhone point-collecting tool. If you like expensive sandwiches, this one’s for you.
Here’s the description, courtesy of the maker:
I created it after being annoyed to see that there was only an iPhone app which my mate could use on his iPhone 4 but I was stuck just letting them scan my card to get points.
It replicates the features of the iPhone app:
- Shows QR style code which Subway staff can scan to earn you points
- Displays your total number of points and last 10 transactions
- Locates your nearest Subway
- Allows you to register as a Subcard if you haven’t picked up a card and registered before on the Subway site.
And the screenshots:
The idea of spending £5.69 on a lunch fills us with HORROR these days. We’d expect to get three dinners for that. But good luck with the app anyway. It’s free and a search for “subcard” will bring it up on the UK Android Market.
