Here’s a little video showing an updated Sony Ericsson X10. The enormous Android phone launched with a heavily skinned version of Android 1.6 at its core and, as we all know, the entire X10 range will be updated to the full 2.1 experience very soon.
This was spotted running at the recent IFA tech show in Berlin. It’s in German, which adds to the atmosphere. Who wants to edit on some funny subtitles?
Nobody mention the 2.2. We suspect that’s a bit of a sore point with Sony Ericsson, internally speaking. Link via DeviceMag.

/ September 10, 2010Damn, I’m really happy with 2.2 on my Hero, I can’t imagine ever buying a phone again without anything but Stock Android, unless it’s fully rooted and good ROMs are available perhaps.
I understand it takes time to update the interface for Sony/HTC, but it’s depressing to know you’re always lagging behind and support stops someday…

/ September 10, 2010There’s a fair few semi-serious rumours here in Japan that 2.2 will show up early next year. SO has stated a three year timeframe for support, and we’re after all only six months into that first year so a 2.2 update seems more than likely, and a future 2.3 one should not be too farfetched either.
