According to the Official Google Blog today, Google will soon launch mobile editing features for its collaborative Google Docs word processing tools, with Android and iPad getting both their own custom editing features over “the next few weeks”.
Here’s the relevant part of Google’s revelation:
“…today we demonstrated new mobile editing capabilities for Google Docs on the Android platform and the iPad. In the next few weeks, co-workers around the world will soon be able to co-edit files simultaneously from an even wider array of devices”
And here’s what Google Docs looks like today, when accessed through Android’s web browser:
At the moment you’re able to read Google Docs files through your Android phone’s web window, but editing is a different matter. We’ve just had a play with it, and… it is indeed pretty broken. There’s a “desktop” mode which brings up the above text editing options, but nothing works. Just thought you’d like to know. Link via Android Guys.
