A little bit more evidence regarding that explosive PSP/Android news from last week has arrived courtesy of gaming site Eurogamer, which is today reporting on Sony’s plans for the next generation of PSP.
The site doesn’t specifically mention Android, but does confirm the rumour about a future PSP coming with a touch-sensitive control area in addition to standard buttons – one of the main elements of that incredible “PlayStation phone” rumour.
Here’s a brief chunk from Eurogamer’s piece:
“According to three separate development sources who have seen and used the new PSP, the screen is rich and detailed but the headline feature is the way games are controlled – by a touch-sensitive area on the back of the unit behind the screen”
Of course, that next-gen PSP and the so-called PlayStation Phone may be two separate branches of hardware design, but Sony planning touch-based gaming is surely a little hint that the PSP/Android rumour may well turn out to be correct?
