An unnamed LG mole has told the Korea Times the company plans to sell 6million smartphones around the world this year, and that 4.2m of those will be running Android. LG is betting the farm and associated outbuildings on Android, basically.
Here’s a quote from the insider:
“We can’t exactly predict the market. But one thing clear is LG is heavily betting on Google’s Android operating system. The number of Android phones will be more than earlier expected”
And here’s a random LG image. The best thing about mentioning LG is having an entirely legitimate excuse to browse the LG image archives.
You’d better hurry up and release something a little more impressive than the bloody LG Optimus in Europe then, LG, if you want to get anywhere near hitting that target.
