So all you HTC Hero owners on the Orange network should be getting Part One of the Android 2.1 update right now – and what about Part Two? That’s on the way and should arrive from next week, says HTC.
Here’s what HTC had to say about the 2.1 delay for Orange users this afternoon:
We apologise for the delay in Orange Hero customers receiving their Éclair update. Testing the update across European markets took longer than anticipated. However, we hope to receive final approval by the end of the week and Orange handsets should start updating from next week
This is an official HTC statement and not just one of their random internet help email responders, so this ought to be rather concrete news.
We’re really burning through the Hero stock images this week.

/ July 27, 2010Interesting that it’s from HTC, not Orange. It does appear on the Orange website though:

Maybe this will mean 3 users will get it soon too.

/ July 28, 2010In typical Orange style, it’s actually coming down the air NOW! So after all the delay, they finally release a statement giving a date and it’s WRONG!
