Do not get excited. This is a pretty humble bug-fixing and feature upgrading update. Your X10 will still be powered by Android 1.6 once you’ve installed the fix. Here’s what Sony Ericsson says the new X10 software is capable of:
When the new software is available, you will receive a message in the notification bar of your X10. The easiest way to get the new software is to accept this update – you can use your mobile network or a WiFi connection for the download. Alternatively, you can use PC Companion (click button below).
New features include:
Free backup and restore application for your contacts, messages, bookmarks, settings etc.
Improved usability of camera, media player etc.
Improved overall phone performance.
PlayNow, with premium apps and games available in selected markets.
Nothing much, but welcome enhancements nonetheless.
If you’re in a supported region, you’re able to directly download the update from Sony Ericsson’s update site – if it hasn’t already arrived over-the-air. It’s been appearing in patches via OTA updates across Europe for the last few days.

Oh yes, absolutely welcome enhancements. The X10 gets better by the update, and is now as responsive and stable as you’d want. Much better than the early review models.
