Three UK launches the ZTE Racer – Android on PAYG for £109.99

This has come out of nowhere. Three UK has quietly added a new Android phone to its pay-as-you-go section, in the shape of the ZTE Racer – a passable entry level Android phone complete with 2.8″ touchscreen and 3megapixel camera.

And for £110 without a contract it’s ridiculously cheap – and Three even throws in a 2GB microSD card.

Can you stick one in the post, Three? We’ll do a review. Thanks.

I think it’s safe to assume it’ll be able to access the Market, as long as you’re in a country where Google supports it.

  3. Question is…. which version of Android. Initial reports suggested it was going to be a 1.6 device, as was the device they launched in France, but that screenshot looks more like the stock 2.2 launcher….. which seems very unlikely.

  4. To answer my own question – early test versions were running 1.6 but ZTE said the production versions would ship with 2.1

Wow, nice. Hope the processor can handle it.

Doesn’t look like Launcher2. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t show a home icon on the app draw.

    Could it be LauncherPro?
