TV watching emergency? Try Ustream. The still-in-beta Android app lets you browse through an enormous list of Ustream’s TV channels on your phone, featuring both live and recorded material, and yes – THERE IS FOOTBALL ON THERE.
Mind you, there’s football on everything right now, so I don’t know why I’m acting surprised about that. At time of writing there are no World Cup matches happening down in South Africa, so here’s a look at the interface you get via Ustream on Android during non-football periods:
The one with the bird in it is a channel called “Eagle Cam”. Ustream says 921 people are currently watching it. There are people out there with even less to do with themselves than me.
Do a search for “ustream” in the Android Market and it’ll show up. I’m not going to bother generating a QR code for this, as typing “ustream” is rather easy. Come on, don’t make me do all the work. You’ll never get good at typing on it if you don’t practise.
Thanks to reader Ian for making us do something on this.
