If you’re the book-reading sort and don’t mind not having physical pages to turn and sniff, you’ll be happy about this – Amazon has launched the Kindle app for Android, bringing its e-reader to the Android Market.
Which lets us lot happily pay Amazon for books. Here’s what it looks like. That’s a nice and readable font and hopefully it still looks that sharp on low-res displays.
Read more about it on Amazon’s Kindle app page. And yes, we’ve just checked – it is available in the UK.

/ June 29, 2010From the reviews I’ve seen, the Android version is missing a few features, most glaringly the audio/video is missing. Just comes as odd seeing as how they released a new iPhone/iPad Kindle yesterady and that’s all everyone could talk about.
Android users might not be too happy with that. Nobody enjoys being treated like a second class citizen. Keeping it short. More of my thoughts at my blog post about this: http://ebookreader-ben.com/android-fail-kindle-app-not-as-cool-as-iphones/

/ June 29, 2010Throw us a bone Amazon, either install a couple of free books or free chapters to get us started, or make it easy to find some freebies, you never know it might tempt people to SPEND SOME MONEY ….

/ June 29, 2010I think Kindle is dead in the water, the Ipad offers a much richer experience for readers, however my concern is that Apple will introduce the same model to books as thay have done for music.
