While we had an isolated Nexus One Android 2.2 update last month, and users have been manually updating their phones themselves with newer releases ever since, it looks like the official roll-out of “FroYo” to all Nexus One users has now begun.
We’ve had a couple of reports of users being prompted to initiate an over-the-air update to their Nexus handsets, which brings the phone up to firmware number FRF83 – and makes the Nexus easily the most boast-worthy Android phone of all.
As ever, if you’ve received the OTA update do let us know – it’s great keeping track of any networks that are pushing the latest upgrade.

/ June 24, 2010Sorry to be a pedant but you ment to say 2.2 yeah?

/ June 24, 2010Nothing yet for me. Nexus One with o2 SIM.

/ June 24, 2010I meant 2.2. I think my brain has reached full capacity.

/ June 24, 2010Nothing yet for me either. Nexus one with Voda SIM. Does it depend on the carrier, though? I thought since these phones came directly from Google, they’d update them regardless of what SIM you have at the moment…or not?
I also have an HTC magic with vodafone. Any hopes for that one?

/ June 24, 2010I was just reading about the Magic – French network SFR has apparently confirmed a 2.2 update for the phone, and it’s the same-spec handset as we have here.
My French is a bit rough, though, so I wouldn’t want to base an update around it, just in case what the report actually said was that someone in the office celebrated their 22nd birthday by ordering a load of cakes and ice cream :)

/ June 24, 2010FRF83 OTA update on my Nexus One this morning. Phone bought sim-free from the website, I’m in the UK. Perceptible speed increase.

/ June 24, 2010@Ken B (and any others in the uk that have received the update): had you manually updated to any of the leaked 2.2 builds from earlier this month?
I have completely stock 2.1-Update1, but had heard that those receiving the OTA update had done such a manual upgrade. Thanks for any info!

/ June 24, 2010Nothing yet for my N1 on T mobile, I ve been waiting for the Froyo too long and I am sick of waiting anymore. Apple announced the iPhone 4 and after 2 weeks it hit the market; Google has announced Froyo for 3 months and nothing till now.

/ June 24, 2010Out of curiosity why are people waiting for the OTA?
The manual updates are rock solid stability wise and there was barely a bug to be seen

/ July 2, 2010I lost my internet last night in central Mexico (San Luis Potosi), and with all the luck in the world, the update got to my nexus one (purchased unblocked in US, running on Telcel 3G network) when I woke up! AMAZING….I accepted and went back to sleep, 10 minutes later I had my laptop tethered and running my laptop on the Telcel 3G. THIS IS WHY I LOVE MY PHONE and to a lesser degree Google. Apple has grown to o big for its customers, they never would hook me up like that, Froyo 2.2 in the casa now, and I can hold my phone with my left hand!!! LOL

/ July 5, 2010OK my N1, unlocked on the O2 network in UK, got the FRF91 update Sunday morning, 4th July!! So excited as the speeds are amazing especially the browser.
But if you add Flash 10.1 beta, the response is a bit slow to touch and multitouch.
