Here’s a rather intriguing new concept for a mobile app – location-based reminder notes. Promising to ping up alerts when the app detects you’re in the specified place, GoNotes could put an end to the horrific modern trauma that is forgetting to buy the thing you specifically went to the shop for.
And coming home with biscuits and doughnuts instead. Here’s the description, plenty more data about the app’s inner workings can be had over on the maker’s site:
Need to remember milk at the store? Tell your spouse something at home? Store notes by location and when you’re near by, GoNotes will remind you.
Features:
-See all active notes at a glance
-Set locations using Google Maps
-Reminders even when the phone is asleep or running another application
-GPS & network triangulation
Sounds clever. Looks like this:
GoNotes is up on the Android Market for $0.99 right now. We’ve not tried it. This update is “news” not a “review”. Find it on the Market by doing a search for “gonotes” – one word – if you fancy giving it a shot.

/ June 23, 2010Neat idea! I hope the author has good success with it, and without copycats jumping in to ‘borrow’ the concept. (I’m assuming it’s an original idea…? Haven’t heard of anything similar.)

/ June 23, 2010Remember The Milk already does it and people are lobbying for Astrid to have the same functionality…

/ June 23, 2010Downloaded it for the Dell Streak. Was rubbish – didn’t even open. Just FC.

/ June 24, 2010I’d like to use this application as well but haven’t seen any good reviews on android 2.1.
