Developer Rob Bateman has uploaded a tech demo of the Away3D Lite Flash Engine, running on a Nexus One. Put together utilising the beta versions of Flash 10.1 and Adobe Air, it’s a rather impressive look at the sort of 3D performance Android, or at least the Nexus One, is capable of with Flash onboard.
We won’t pretend to know any more about the technicalities behind it, we’ll just look at the pretty red aeroplane whizzing about the place:
Rob says the plane and landscape consist of around 2000 polygons, which is a pleasingly old-school way of measuring 3D performance. Read more about it on the Away3D site and Rob’s blog.
