Indie retailer Expansys is now taking pre-orders for the rather hot-looking MILESTONE XT720 – with a launch date of July 2nd attached to its SIM-free version of the new Android phone.
Now, we wouldn’t want our life or mortgage to depend on a phone release date put out there by a third-party retailer, but UK’s Expansys usually gets most things right – and it was the exclusive original launch partner for the first MILESTONE in the UK, so ought to know what’s going on at Motorola HQ.
Hence we’re taking this to be true:
And that is a very nice phone. We were literally only HOURS away from impulse-upgrading to a Samsung Galaxy S, but this is seriously putting the cat in the with pigeons. We never thought we’d consider a Motorola. Such is the fickle nature of the modern smartphone consumer.

The XT720 is also being sold by Unlocked-Mobiles, which is doing it for a slightly lower £448.89 – and it also charges a quid less for delivery.
