According to a report in the Korea Herald yesterday, Samsung is planning to release an entire range of Android-powered tablets later this year – which the paper dubs the “sPad”. First will come a 7″ tablet during the third quarter, followed by larger 8″ and 10″ models over the next three months.
This is not a picture of them. This is the Samsung Q1, an early forerunner in the tablet computing world that had the misfortune to launch before Apple made it COOL:
The Herald goes on to say the Samsung Android tablets will launch via local network SK Telecom, so presumably it’ll be pitching the devices as phone/tablet hybrids and looking to subsidise them through mobile operators – pretty much like O2 and Dell are doing with the Streak. Link via SlashGear.
UPDATE:
It’s the Samsung Galaxy Tab. More here.
