The Sprint HTC Hero’s Android 2.1 update was leaked and fiddled with last week, but now it’s official – the US network is finally launching its upgrade process to put the poor old HTC Hero out of its Android 1.5 misery and bring it bang up to date.
The network has today put up a support page for Hero users, telling them how to go about beginning the upgrade process. It’s here. It’s real. It’s GOING TO HAPPEN. Now, when’s it going to happen in Europe, eh?
It’s definitely worth picking up a cheap HTC Hero now it’s getting the Android 2.1 update. It may be a year old, but the Hero still has a better spec list than the new range of “entry level” Android phones like the Wildfire and Vodafone 845.
The Hero’s 320 x 480 resolution screen beats the Wildfire’s display hands down, for a start. The HTC Hero revival starts NOW.
