The New York Times launches its official Android app

The New York Times, a publication that’s literally IN LOVE WITH APPLE and FANCIES STEVE JOBS something rotten, has risked angering its best friend Steve by launching an official Android app.

At time of writing the very new NYT Android app isn’t mentioned on the NYT’s mobile apps page, but hopefully it’ll appear soon so you won’t think we’re just making this up. Here’s what it looks like:

The app’s listed now on the Android Market, plus it’s also showing up on a search for it in the UK, should you want to keep on top of meaningless-to-us American news stories about baseball and politicians we’ve never heard of. And it’s FREE.
