Adobe launches (launched) Adobe Reader for Android

The announcement of Adobe’s official Android PDF Reader has been rather “overshadowed” by the fanfare of the arrival of its Flash 10.1 tools last week, with the PDF app quietly popping up for download on the Android Market a few days ago.

Here’s the official description of Adobe’s new, portable PDF Reader Android app, taken from the Adobe announcement of a few days ago:

“Adobe Reader for Android offers multi-touch gestures, like pinch-and-zoom, as well as double-tap-zoom, flick-scrolling and panning. We’ve also added a “reflow” mode, which will take text-heavy documents with wide margins, and automatically wrap the content for easy viewing on smaller screens”

Unfortunately, the Adobe Reader app requires Android 2.1 or above – with Adobe saying the app’s been tested on the DROID, MILESTONE and Nexus One, but it may still work “just fine” on other devices.
