Blimey, TWO new Breaking Art Android apps in the same day? Hot on the heels of this morning’s Beer in Japan comes Engrish Crock – an app the maker says was BANNED from the Apple Store due to… we’re not sure.
Engrish Crock basically takes all the amusingly mis-translated examples of “Engrish” found on Asian product packaging then applies a clock over the top of it, giving you a constant stream of odd translations. While also telling you the time.
Here’s the description:
“The app that Apple refuses to allow on the AppStore comes to Android, proving that the Android Market is open and not subject to silly arbitrary rejections on a whim. What is Engrish Crock? It’s a clock of funny English spelling mistakes from I Can Has Cheezeburger. It’s hilarious. It shouldn’t have been rejected by Apple!”

This is a paid-for app, which will cost you the local equivalent of 69p. Find it in the Android Market by doing a search for “Engrish”. We’re still working on a painless way to include QR codes.

Ken @ Ken's Tech Tips
/ May 17, 2010You can include QR codes using Google’s QR Code API – they allow you to hotlink it straight into your webpage.
e.g. http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=135×135&chl=market://details?id=com.breakingart.engrishcrock
If you know the marketplace URL/id just change it at the end… or I find it easier to use something like Androlib.com which generates the QR code URLs for you :)
Hope this helps!
