Oh dear, following on from yesterday’s volcano-gate stock shock and non-stop mumblings on the Three Blog about highstreet Three stores REFUSING to sell customers Desires on PAYG contracts as promised today (the terrifying phrase “management discretion” has been mentioned), it’s now got a little worse for Three-connected HTC fans.
If you want to order a Desire through Three UK’s web site, your earliest possible delivery date is now April 30 – a ten-day wait. It’s all that volcano’s fault again, we’d imagine.
We’d also imagine that a ten-day wait basically means Three is all out of stock:
It’s a shame, as Three has some good Desire deals – particularly its £25-a-month Internet Texter pack, which lets you get the Desire with an upfront payment of £99 along with “unlimited” internet plus Three’s trademark free Skype-to-Skype call package. We’d have some of that, if we were looking.
It’s smooth to use, the 1080p display is sharp, clear and bright, the device is extremely light and thin and therefore very pocketable and portable — much more so than other 5-inch phones we’ve used. And yet… we’re a bit unimpressed by the overall package…
A relatively high-spec smartphone, with a 4.5″ display running at 480 x 854 resolution and powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, plus the Ascend G510 arrives running Android 4.1.1 — albeit potentially hindered by Huawei only sticking 512MB of RAM inside it..
