Man, he’s really RATTLED! Writing in response to an email sent in by an Apple fan, Steve Jobs once again wheeled out his bizarre Android-is-for-porn rant – much to the amusement of, well, anyone who’s ever experienced Android, or the greater internet at large.
Here’s Steve’s latest bewildering anti-Android/porn rant, delivered in response to a complaint about the rejection of a satirical iPhone app featuring the work of cartoonist Mark Fiore:
“Fiore’s app will be in the store shortly. That was a mistake. However, we do believe we have a moral responsibility to keep porn off the iPhone. Folks who want porn can buy and [sic] Android phone“
And here’s the SAVIOUR of the MORALS of HUMANITY himself:
Calm down, Steve. You’re in danger of making it look like you’ve gone completely MAD. Last time we checked, typing “oily tits” into Safari delivered the goods. Read the full interchange between Steve and an Apple fan over at TechCrunch, if you want to see a man slowly losing his mind as his EMPIRE CRUMBLES BEFORE HIM.

/ April 20, 2010The iPad IS a flop, it’s function baffles most people, it’s basically a large iPod Touch, it’s usefulness is outclassed by netbooks half it’s price, and it offers nothing new.
The iPhone has long had it’s day. Sure people that are blinded by Apples’s marketing, or locked into iTunes because they bought loads of locked down content may not see it, or may not be able to move, but for the rest of us on Android 2.1 devices, “new” iPhone features like multitasking ***GASP*** are old hat for Android (and any other OS made in the last 20 years). Guess what, on Android, you can buy your music from ANYWHERE **GASP** and write your own apps (phone will run unsigned apps just fine if you allow it to), marketplace submissions are less restrictive too. The fuss over Opera Mini? Android has had it for months, because there was no Apple controlling things.
JOBS KNOWS THIS, HENCE THE ONLY THING TO DO IT TRY AND BADMOUTH THE BETTER PRODUCT/COMPETITION (MICROSOFT STYLE).

/ April 20, 2010Nice use of CAPS hinting at your TRUE INNER RAGE
All I know is I’d be embarrassed to get an iPad out on the train. It’s simply too brash for shy Europeans, I reckon.

/ April 20, 2010I’m no Apple fan, but I am a fan of mobile communication technology. So fair play to Apple for what they have done, in waking up a sleeping market. Each to their own, there is enough choice out there.
As for porn, Jobs makes a fair point. Sure, websites have porn, and you can easily browse to them via your phones browser, but it is not Apples job to police the internet. Where they do have control is over their App Store. Play by their rules, or take your app elsewhere. Seems clear enough. I actually applaud Apple for their stance on porn, it’s a shame more people don’t stand up to the filth.

/ April 20, 2010The thing about this quote is that it is a perfect marketing slogan. This quote is going around the internet pretty quickly. There are many people who won’t care about the morality of it, and many people who have accepted the premise and are arguing about adult material.
All of a sudden it is accepted that Android and adult material are linked together.
This is exactly what Apple want, because there are many people whose buying decisions are affected by such an association. This is very slick marketing that is aimed at carving the family market away from Android.
Apple can choose to regulate their app store and the morality of that is debatable. But these comments from Jobs are designed to besmirch Android in the minds of parents, not to defend their own actions and with this going around the world it is succeeding as the only thing that casual buyers (ie the majority, who made Apple a success) will see is the link between Android and adult material.

/ April 20, 2010Screw all you porn haters! I happen to enjoy porn. Stop trying to decide what I am or am not allowed to watch in the privacy of my home, or the privacy of my phone.

/ April 20, 2010It’s just so random. What if Steve decides to get angry about violence in video games next and axes all games from Apple’s App Store with ONE FLICK OF HIS MIGHTY HAND?

/ April 21, 2010Why doesnt he add adult filters by default to Safari maybe Apple dont control internet, but they do control how browser filters.
