In a post this morning on the O2 Blog, the company announced it’ll be stocking the HTC Desire from “mid-May” – putting an end to the previous promise it would arrive on the network during April (and O2′s HTC Desire page still says April at the time of writing).
Bizarrely blaming “testing” for the delay, O2 declined to pin an actual date on the arrival of the phone, but has stuck up a comprehensive list of the various tariffs you’ll be able to choose from when picking up a Desire on a new contract. Here’s O2′s odd delay reasoning:
“Unfortunately the testing we carry out to make sure the phone’s ready for launch has taken longer than we had hoped, meaning we won’t be able to launch it at the end of April like we originally planned. Instead, we’re aiming to get it launched for mid-May and we’ll update this page as soon as we have an exact date”
And here’s a list of all of O2′s HTC Desire tariffs:
Not that bad if you don’t mind the 24 month options. £25 for the phone with a £99 fee sounds OK to us, what with it providing “unlimited” internet and 100 talk minutes. We don’t do much talking, you see.
