Video content delivery specialist Saffron Digital is working with HEAVYWEIGHTS Warner Bros and T-Mobile to bring an on-demand film service exclusively to HTC Desire owners.
Launching this month, the movie-watching tool is a tweaked version of the existing Saffron VOD system already offered to some T-Mobile customers, with those who’ve already gone through the NIGHTMARE that is trying to get a Desire through T-Mobile UK qualifying for two free rentals. From a list of eight. It’s better than nothing.
Here’s how it works, according to today’s news release:
“T-Mobile customers purchasing the HTC Desire in the first month will be granted access to two complimentary Warner Bros. movies from a list of eight titles*, which include Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince and The Hangover. These will be available on a 48 hour rental basis, playable on the HTC Desire or on a PC. More Warner Bros. films will be added to the VOD+ service over the next few months and will cost £3.49 for new releases and £2.49 for catalogue titles”
And here’s our first use of the stock image for today:
Has anyone had any recent contact with T-Mobile regarding stocks of the Desire? It seems to have finally shifted the “rump” of the backlog and is back to business as usual. Here’s hoping it reinstates that superb but cancelled £10-a-month deal. Link via M-Ent.
