WEEKLY WRAP: Elsewhere in Android news

And so, it is the day of rest. The day of trying to tear oneself away from RSS readers, search results, Twitter and various news sites, to concentrate on the important things in life – like watching the as-live afternoon repeat of the Chinese Grand Prix.

To keep you lot busy, here’s our summary of the Android stories we missed, ignored or started writing then deleted out of misery, along with some of the mainstream mentions Google’s rocketing OS picked up this week:

HTC’s Desire smart phone is just the business
Mainstream UK newspaper The Telegraph popped up with a bizarrely-timed review of the Desire.

HTC Incredible specs leaked – the successor to the HTC Desire
…and Metro did something on the Incredible.

This one even hit the BBC, so we probably should’ve done something on it. Sorry. We let you down. Ball dropped.

WePad Android tablet pricing unveiled – will it kill the iPad?
Don’t care about the WePad and care even less for T3′s grasping, keyword-packed approach to headlines. And they never link to where they nick their stories from. Shameful. Sort it out, you’re not the BBC.

Toshiba to launch Windows and Android tablets
We’re trying to ignore tablet computers in the hope they’ll go away.

Twitter now planning official Android app
We’re saving our powder for when it’s actually announced. Plus it’s unlikely a Twitter-made app would be better than what’s already available on Android. Is Seesmic for sale? Buying that is surely the only way to go?

Android gets Ocado app with voice recognition
Spent 15 minutes trying to find an official press release from Ocado, but couldn’t, so gave up. THAT’S how much we care.

Is Android Evil?
A frankly RUBBISH opinion piece that should not have been reported by everyone as if it was NEWS. Be embarrassed if you put this on your blog. Be very embarrassed.

Adobe CEO: “Flash Coming to Android Second Half of Year”
Don’t care. Lived without it long enough already.

Android 2.1 Upgrades For HTC Hero & Samsung Moment In May
If you own an HTC Hero, just eBay the thing and MOVE ON, or accept it. Having your dreams smashed every month must hurt.

Android rising in Japan
An interesting opinion piece from the ever-reliable Mobile Entertainment.

That’s it. That’s more than enough. In fact, we make it that that’s EVERYTHING. See you whenever we’re bored enough to wiggle the mouse and wake up the computer again.
