Orange reveals 'Black Edition' HTC Desire – and regular Desire arrives on £22.50 tariff

Finally, UK network Orange has joined the online WAR to sell us all an HTC Desire, with the network sticking up a page for the hot new superphone this evening.

You’re able to order the standard Desire right now, with the cheapest Orange package being a discounted ‘Dolphin’ web tariff of £22.50 with a £99 upfront fee, but MUCH more interesting is the appearance of this page – which tells you all about the Black Edition Desire that Orange let slip a couple of weeks ago.

So here’s Orange’s image of the Black Edition HTC Desire. It’s… a Desire, only in black. If you have a limited imagination, allow us to illustrate what a black Desire looks like:

Yep, that’s black. The standard brown Desire has been available on Orange for some time already, with the network offering it in-store and as an upgrade to existing customers AND through third-party sellers like Phones4U – but it’s only today that the phone’s been available direct on the network’s site.

Trust us on that. We’ve been looking at it about 20 times a day for the last week, waiting for this very moment.

Watch out if you are thinking of going with orange. The block GTalk and they are adding a crap load of apps that you can’t remove.

Also its only 750mb Bandwidth compared to 2GB on T-Mobile.

Er, yes, that did look a bit brown. Orange seems to have got the pics the wrong way round on its listings. I’ve swapped them around.

That’ll teach me to write updates on my laptop with the screen brightness turned right down.
