In an announcement on the T-Mobile UK forum this afternoon, the UK network has revealed its plans for its roll-out of HTC’s lightning-fast software update for the Desire. It’ll be here soon.
It’ll be here in the coming week, in fact, according to a T-Mobile forum drone. So if you’re a new T-Mo customer and you’re STRESSING about not having the very latest version of the firmware on your swish new phone, hold tight. Play with the wallpapers for a bit while you wait.
Here’s the quote:
“T-Mobile recently launched the HTC Desire and the phone has been very well received by our customers. We are aware that HTC is planning to release a new software update and we are currently working with them to provide an ‘over the air’ update for customers with an earlier version. The update will happen in the coming week and we’ll keep you posted on any developments as and when we have them – T-Mobile Forum Team”
Which can only mean it’s stock photo time:
We’re going to retire this stock photo now and get another one. A fancy three-quarter angle one, we think. Anyone have a favourite Desire shot we can use in its place?

The way one Desire lays nonchalantly against the others – just so cool……. :-)

/ April 9, 2010I’s nearly the same photo. But I want the real one. In UK they are having problems with stock, but in Spain it isn’t even anaunced!

/ April 9, 2010You can crop multiple slices from the stock photo and use it many times!

/ April 9, 2010I think the best thing is for HTC to send me one so I can take a wide range of my own photographs…

/ April 11, 2010The update from T-Mobile as an OTA is now available. It takes it to 1.15.110.11.

/ April 11, 2010Cheers Marcus. Anything noticeably different? Or is it all just engine room stuff?

/ April 12, 2010Marcus,
I think you might be wrong, the update should take your firmware to:
1.15.405.4
Cheers!

/ April 12, 2010As I understand it the .110. and .405. part of the firmware numbers indicate network variant, with .405. being a generic sim free version and .110. being a t-mobile branded version.
1.15.110.11 is the latest t-mob version available.
Nice new stock image, btw ;)
