During an extremely bored bit of random internet trawling, we stumbled across this post on Liliputing, which contains all you need to know in order to get the actual fonts used in Google Android phones up and running on your computer. And you don’t need much.
Basically, you:
Download the (free) Android fonts from here.
Install them on your computer.
Then you’re granted the ability to type words on your computer in the proper Google Android font, like so:

/ April 5, 2010Not all Computers run Windows ;) The Droid Fonts are open source, so you can distribute them without problems. Most Linux distributions ship them inside their repositories. In Ubuntu or Debian (or any other Debian-based distribution) just ran
sudo apt-get install ttf-droid
and you’re done :)
