Searchify updated – now includes Calendar support

Searchify, the Android Search enhancement tool we reported on in January much to the surprise of the maker, has been updated over the weekend – and now includes support for rummaging through your Calendar entries.

You need Android 1.6 on your phone to install and run Searchify, and here’s what to expect when you do, courtesy of the maker’s new-found press release writing skills!

Calendar search added to Android by Searchify

Calendar search is one thing sadly lacking from Android, even in later versions which added the global search box. Now free app Searchify adds this feature directly into the Android search box and search widget. Past and future events can be searched for matches in either event title or location.

This is in addition to Searchify’s original features, all integrated with the Android search box: wikipedia search, calculation, translation, unit conversion, calendar event entry and keyword search.

Searchify has a 4.43 average rating on the Android Market.

More information can be found on the Searchify website, at http://olilan.co.uk/searchify

Install the app, then type “cal” followed by your search query in the Search box in order to have the thing look through your date entries. If you want to give it a go, here’s the funny little Android barcode thing to make it appear on your phone:
