Android Google Maps updated to v4.0 – now with Buzz integration

There seems to be a large amount of negative “buzz” surrounding Google’s new Buzz social networking thing today, with most of the internet deciding they’ve already got enough bloody social networks, than-you-very-much Mr Google.

But if you are excited about the prospect of sharing sandwich recommendations with your friends via the Buzz, your Android version of Google Maps will help – it’s been updated to version 4.0.0 and now incorporates everything you need to get Buzz-ing.

Google’s Mobile blog says Maps 4.0 works with Android 1.6 and above.

Once you’ve activated the Buzz Layer on Google Maps, you’re free to start synchronising and sharing place recommendations with your friends, a bit like… numerous other social tools currently available.

Apparently there’s also a new “Night Mode” in the Navigation tool, but seeing as Google Maps Navigation is still missing from the European version, we wouldn’t know anything about that.
