Congratulations to Acer! Acer’s president Gianfranco Lanci told press that sales of the Android-powered Acer Liquid have been going well, so well that retailers are experiencing stock shortages as poor Acer factory workers struggle to make the things fast enough.
Here’s what Mr Lanci said as he popped open another champagne bottle:
“Liquid is doing much better than our expectation. This is why we’re a little bit short of supply.”
BusinessWeek reports that Acer had initially hoped to sell between 150,000 and 200,000 units of its debut Android phone, but sales are now hoped to hit 250,000 by the end of this quarter. Not bad for a phone that’s not available in subsidised format through any of the major networks.
The Liquid is currently going for £341 at Amazon and £329 at Play.com.

/ February 6, 2010I’m glad people have realised what an excellent phone the liquid is. At the price it is probably the best value for money smartphone on the market, can’t wait for the upgrade to 2.0
