This news comes courtesy of a forum post over at Mocado, so take with salt, but a user is claiming to have been told by the maker of the T-Mobile Pulse that ROM updates ARE in progress for the pre-pay Android phone, with a 2.0 version expected to hit in April.
This news comes direct from the manufacturer, so it’ll be up to individual networks in various countries to pump out the update over the air or via the web, when/if it arrives, so prepare to hassle your local operator. The full quote over on Mocado goes as follows…
We are planning to develop the ROM 2.0 and 2.1, the ROM 2.0 may be released before April and at the same time we need to get approval from T-Mobile.
Customers can get this information from the T-Mobile website when the new firmware is released and approved by T-Mobile.
Many thanks.
And that’s the T-Mobile Pulse, manufactured for T-Mobile by Huawei, a phone we had previously thought consigned to the DUSTBIN of legacy devices doomed to be stuck on Android 1.5 forever. But no! Great news for all Pulse users. Let’s hope this isn’t just someone having a laugh on the internet, eh?

/ April 19, 2010I bet we will see May with no 2.x update. Another leaked memo will claim that the manufacturer are just about to release an update pending T-Mobile’s approval, meanwhile T-Mobile will leak a story about them waiting for a new release from the manufacturer.
