Ahh, the Acer A1. Looks a bit chunky, runs a marginally customised version of Android 1.6 and boasts a whopping great 3.5″ touchscreen running at 480 x 800. The phone was reviewed well by most outlets, although we’re yet to actually see one in the flesh so can’t even pretend to have an opinion on it.
BUT! What we can do is dig up some example photos taken by the Liquid A1, then attempt to see if they’re any good or not, as we add it to our Android Photo Sample MEGA-DATABASE.
So, here we go.
That’s… terrible work by the Acer’s camera. Click the photo to see the big version and you’ll notice the colours are awful and virtually non-existent, everything’s blotchy and… what’s with the general aura of fogginess?
For some reason, even though the A1′s new and only just came out, the phone’s lacking a flash on its camera, so don’t go expecting any miracles to happen in low-light situations.
This one’s OK! If you’re looking for a phone camera that can just about recreate a scene if the lighting’s ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, the A1′s your phone. Such a shame the camera’s not much cop, as the phone itself looks lovely.
