A bizarre phone, the HTC Tattoo. Released after the HTC Magic, it offers the innovations and enhancements of… being slightly worse in most areas. Yet costing about the same on most contracts.
So while the Tattoo seems to be an exercise is letting HTC make a bit more money by selling something cheaper to make for the same amount of money, is the camera about the same as the Magic’s – or, in keeping with the rest of the phone, a little bit worse and cheaper?
Let’s have a look and pretend we can tell the difference!
Not bad at all. The Tattoo’s 3.2megapixel camera seems to cope here, thanks to there not being anything to bright or dark to record, and nothing’s moving about.

That is an AWFUL shot. Click on it to see the original – it’s a mess of blotches and colours. It’s like HTC thought the Tattoo’s camera would never be pointed at the sky, so didn’t bother programming it to do sky.
